Membership Information

Many people join JCI Aberdeen to meet active young people in the Aberdeen area, regardless of whether they're interested in the business, community, self-development or international aspects of JCI. JCI is open to anyone aged 18 - 40, private or public sector. All we ask is that you take some opportunities and participate in some of our events.

What you get for a JCI Aberdeen Membership Fee:

JCI Aberdeen fees are tax deductible. On occasion, employers may be willing to pay fees due to the developmental nature of the organisation.

Those interested in joining JCI Aberdeen are offered a ‘Prospective Membership’ period of 6 months, which runs independently of the fee-paying year. Should you decide to join as a prospective member, we request payment for just 6 months and ask that you attend a 'New Members Evening' and at least 2 other meetings. This arrangement allows you to get a taste for the organisation without having to pay the full year in advance.

All these events are available for a fraction of the cost of paying for business, training and community events commercially.

Moreover JCI and JCI Aberdeen have unique contacts with local businesses and institutions, providing our members with unique opportunities which wouldn’t be available elsewhere: to sit in the North Tonight control room during a live broadcast, to visit the harbour board control centre at Footdee or to work shadow an MEP in Brussels. Opportunities abound. JCI Aberdeen maintains a low level of membership fee since it is entirely run by volunteers and our patrons recognise our contribution to the community and the development of our members by supporting our local association.

Membership fees for 2009 are only £70 per year (which equates to a few pounds per event). The fee-paying year runs from 1st January to 31st December.

Should you have any queries regarding membership or require further discussion or information then please email: membership@jciaberdeen.org.uk.
